Great Olympic Biathlon Finale: Men´s relay expected with Norwegian challenge!

Norway´s Biathlon team round Olympic Champion Emil Hegle Svendsen and the King of Biathlon, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen announced already weeks befor the Winter Olympics 2010 started, that they will eke out medals in each Olympic battle and of course Gold in the relay of men!

Surprised Russian Ustyugov beated the thirty best Olympians in the Mass start

Flawless and with swift skiing the Russian Ustyugov took the last possibility to win an Olympic single medal in the Biathlon Mass start and grabbed Gold ahead of France’s Martin Fourcade and Slovakian Pavol Hurajt by more than 10 seconds.
The strong Brother of Simon Fourcade flew by the Austrian Sumann up the hill on the last lap and later catched Hurajt.

Golden Girl Magdalena Neuner finishes her Winter Olympics 2010 with golden Mass start

German powerwoman Neuner ran away, Russians Zaitseva and Medvetseva behind – Hauswald was following and soon catching Medvetseva.

This will be the last chance of the 30 qualified participants to win an Olympic medal themselves, the next and very last chance for winning in team will be the relay!

Norwegian Double: Svendsen ahead King of Biathlon Bjoerndalen together with Novikov

Olympic Individual of Biathlets finished with Norwegian double victory: Svendsen ahead his team-mate Bjoerndalen, sharing Olympic Silver Medal with Belarus Novikov.
After compatriot Tora Berger won the women’s Olympic Individual earlier, Svendsen added another Gold for Norway when he finished and Novikov reached the second medal for Belarus after Darya Domracheva´s Bronze in the morning.

Berger sprints for Olympic Gold medal in the Individual of women ahead underdog Khrustaleva

Whistler Olympic Park, Olympic Biathlon Individual of women: A happy Tora Berger sprinted over the finish line with bib 2 and set the early pace with just one miss on the shooting range and her final time of 40 mins 52.8sec was unbeaten. Olympic Silver medal reached the underdog Elena Khrustaleva and Bronze the strong Belarus Biathlet Darya Domracheva.

Olympic women´s Biathlon Individual: Start deferred to 10:20 local time

In Callaghan Vallay, in the Whistler Olympic Park all wait for the next Olympic Biathlon competition, the Individual of women. The start will be 20 minutes later because of the rescheduled alpine race.
So the teams have more time to prepare for the oldest Biathlon discipline with high attention on shooting, because each missed target means one penalty minute, that will be added to the finish-time!

Ferry beats Jay and Sumann in the Olympic Biathlon Pursuit of men

Exciting till the last essential shoots with stronger wind and a lot of penalties! Leading Jay and Ferry left the range together after both missed one of five targets on their fourth and final shoot, and had to circle the 150-metre penalty loop.
They still were way ahead of the pack, and Ferry, who had just the last one miss, quickly pulled away from Jay, who missed alltogether two targets, same as the near Sumann.

After the spectacular Sprint competition with worse conditions the favorite have to attack from behind!
Norwegian Biathlets signalised their attack of Medals on the Olympic Biathlon Pursuit!
Second Svendsen has the best position to beat the high motivated Frenchman Jay, who wants to repeat the Olympic Pursuit success of his team-mate Defrasne, winning Gold in Turin 2006.
